Finalist Artwork in the 2026 Endometriosis Art Competition (QUENDO), this piece draws from lived experience to explore the realities of endometriosis and the strength held within the body.
Vines and organic forms wrap around the pelvis, referencing the cyclical and persistent nature of the condition. Flowers and butterflies are woven throughout, symbolising resilience, transformation, and the strength that develops through ongoing pain.
The work challenges common ideas of strength. Rather than something loud or external, strength is shown here as internal, embodied, and steady. It lives in endurance, self-awareness, and the act of advocating for your own body.
It also speaks to the misconception that nothing can be done. While there is no cure for endometriosis, knowledge, care, and support can change how it is experienced and managed.
At its core, this piece honours the complexity of living with endometriosis—holding both pain and power at once, and recognising that resilience and beauty can exist within that reality.
